treasure
At
lunchtime today,
I
was walking back to my Harley
which
was parked next to a van.
I
watched the driver get out,
come
around to the passenger side door,
open
it,
and
stand there expectantly.
He
gave his wife a hand as she got out,
then
he held on to her
as
he helped her across the parking lot.
I
was watching the man’s face
and
the whole time he was holding on to his wife
he
had this look about him,
a
look as if he was holding on
to
the greatest treasure on earth.
(Isn’t
that what we’d all like to have?
To have someone look at us
like we are their greatest treasure?)
I
was struck by the sweetness of it;
and
I was thinking,
“now
that’s real love.”
Each
morning, before I leave for work,
I
give my wife a hug and a kiss
and
tell her I love her.
That
way, no matter what happens,
she’ll
know that she is loved and treasured.
Is
there someone in your life you care about?
Someone
you treasure?
When
was the last time you let them know?
Why
not lift them up?
Spread
a little love and improve the world.
Have
a great week!
grace, peace, and love to you,
dave
