backwards

well my dear ones,

Take a moment and ask yourself this:
is there any thing in your life
that you love so much
that you'd not be willing to sell it
if someone you love needed the money
and it was the only way they could get it?

My friend, Mike, wanted a Harley badly;
when he finally got the one he wanted,
he said it was a great bike
and he really loved it,
but he sincerely hoped
that he would never get so attached to it
that he wouldn't be willing to give it up
if God put it on his heart
that he was being asked to part with it
in order to have the money to help others.

A friend of mine once pointed out to me
that many of us have life backwards;
we are meant to use things and love people,
yet many people seem to have that reversed;
they tend to love things and use people.

If we focus our lives on ourselves
and our possessions,
then we will always be disappointed,
always left wanting for more.

But if we focus our lives on others,
even if they don't appreciate it at the time
(some will, some will not),
if we choose to live
with an attitude of gratitude for what we have,
if we choose to live with an attitude
that we are blessed to be a blessing,
then God will honor that choice
and multiply the blessings in our lives.
(& from my own personal experience,
 I can verify for you the truth of that =>)

Have a great week!

grace, peace, and love to you,

dave
